What We Do

Elder Teaching Drumming

Native Canadian and African Elders Teach the Sacred Art of Drumming

Community Storytelling

The voices of the people are heard as they tell stories from the heart. It's all about sharing wisdom and preserving traditions.

Youth Dance Workshop

We bridge cultures through rhythm and movement—a celebration of heritage, unity and youth expression.

Anti-Racism Through the Arts

We host performances, panel discussions, and creative workshops that directly address systemic racism, amplify Black voices, and spark community dialogue. Recent projects include the African-Indigenous Cultural Picnic and anti-racism performance showcases, where art becoms a platform for social change.

African-Indigenous Cultural Exchange

Through storytelling circles, collaborative performances, and hands-on workshops, we bring African and Indigenous communities together to explore shared histories of resilience and survival.

Most recently, we hosted the
African-Indigenous Cultural Picnic, a two-day celebration supported by the City of Edmonton and local community partners. The event featured drumming, dance, storytelling, and food traditions, creating space for cultural learning, dialogue, and solidarity.

Healing Through Culture

Our workshops and events use music, dance, food traditions, and storytelling as tools for community healing. By addressing intergenerational trauma rooted in racism and displacement, these cultural gatherings promote well-being and collective resilience.

Cultural Education & Community Engagement

We host public events and festivals that celebrate African Heritage and make it visible to wider audiences. By showcasing the richness of African arts and traditions, we challenge stereotypes, promote intercultural understanding, and strengthen community bonds. These events serve as both education and preservation, ensuring that African traditions remain vibrant and accessible in contemporary Canadian society.
